The excursion will visit classic Cambrian-Ordovician outcrops on the Pakri Peninsula, 50 km west of Tallinn, with additional stops of the way. The participants will get acquainted with the main geological structure, bedrock stratigraphy and geological history of the region. Potential future mineral resources of Estonia – shelly phosphorite and metalliferous black shales – will also be shown and discussed.
